On Tuesday, flood had the PMC’s (Pune Municipal Corporation’s) staff running to save people as the fire brigade and different ward offices received above 75 complaints of water gushing into building’s parking slots, basements and trees getting uprooted.
On Tuesday night, the whole Jaiprakash Vasti area in Tingarenagar was under water and the officials run to clean nallahs. They have also received orders from the respected ward office to destroy encroachments. The Rajewadi slum in Bhawani Peth ward office area submerged under water and the municipal staff had been called in for rescue operations. In the last 2 days, the fire-brigade received 27 complaints of trees falling. The PMC said that the ward office staff was on warning on orders issued by the commissioners office.
