The traders have been warned by the Dehu Road Cantonment Board to keep their shops clean other wise they will lost their trader licenses.
Brig R S Rathore president of the DCB said that they would cancel the trade licenses if the shops in the vegetable, mutton and fish market fail to maintain hygienic condition.
The drive is expected to be in action at this end. The market areas will be inspected and a team of doctors is going to manage the inspection of market. Three doctors of the army sanitation group will be the part of the team.
The main market of the Dehu Road cantonment is very dirty and has very narrow roads and chaotic parking along both sides of the road. The other factor disturbing the environment is a huge garbage dump, which is placed behind the market.
According to Rathore the separate place will be provided for hawkers who sell readymade products using one end of the road. A separate place will help to reduce the overcrowding in the market. Rathore also said that they are thinking to ask the traders to remove the extensions in front of their shops.
