Mohammed Mansoor Asgar Peerbhoy a 31-year-old arrest about the terror email and WiFi hacking cases have come as a bolt from the blue for his neighbours in Central Park Society at Pune Camp. But, they showed unity with the family and thought that Peerbhoy couldn’t have connections with any anti-social elements.

Late on Tuesday evening, members of the society were ready for closed-door meeting when TOI visited the 3-wing complex. Since 1992, know the Peerbhoy family most of the residents in the society. He also said that the family has a good reputation in the society and all members of family are well educated.

Bhagwandas Gidwani said -

I am their neighbour since 1992. Asgar Peerbhoy is the treasurer of our society. I am confident that his son was wrongly implicated in the case.

Gopal Aswani, another neighbour said -

All the members of the Peerbhoy family are co-operative and friendly. This family has no history of any link with anti-social elements. We feel that things will get clear soon.

Meantime, brother of the arrested engineer Adil Peerbhoy said that family member were unaware about the charges leveled against Mohammed on Tuesday. Adil told TOI over the Phone that I even don’t know much about the case, which is in its primary stages.

He added -

We still don’t know the entire story as we have not received a copy of the FIR. We have appointed a lawyer and will look into all these issues.

In the evening, a visit to the Peerbhoys residence revealed a locked flat. On Tuesday morning, the family had hurried to Mumbai. Satish Modi, society chairman said they would discuss the matter with the Peerbhoys when they returned.
